Born and raised in Santa Cruz, I was first drawn to science through the weird and wild corners of tide pools in my backyard. My curiosity around the environment led me to study biology at UC Santa Barbara. But after an inspiring encounter with Costa Rican conservationists on a field research project, I pivoted to storytelling.

Now, I am committed to writing stories that show there is still hope for both people and the planet.
